Featured Photographer

Imogen Cunningham was born in April 1883. She picked up photography in 1901, but she found herself uninterested and sold the camera to a friend. She picked up a camera again in 1906 when she was studying at The University of Washington in Seattle. She wanted to lern the chemistry behind photography, so she began photographing the plants for the botany department. Her passion eventually lead her to photograph for Vanity Fair until it ceased publication in 1936. Cunningham continued to take pictures until she died at age 93 in 1976.
