Featured Photographer

Diane Arbus was a very interesting photographer. She was born on March 14, 1923 in New York City. She was noted for her black and white photos of peripheral people including, dwarfs, giants, transvestites , nudists, and circus performers. In 1971, Arbus committed suicide. A year later Arbus was the first American to have photos in Venice Biennale.

This photo is of a young teenage couple on Hudson Street in NYC. I personally really enjoy Arbus’ work. She wasn’t afraid to stick out from the normal, she ignored what was considered to be “normal” and appropriate, and stuck up for the people who would be considered ‘‘freaks.’’
